Sealed Connectors
Sealed connectors are frequently used on "split" refrigeration and air conditioning systems to allow each section of the system to be pre-charged at the factory. This saves installation time and ensures that the system is properly charged on start-up. Sealed connectors come in two types - Quick Disconnect and One-Time Connect. RParts stocks the most common sizes of each.

These popular
fittings are standard equipment on most small "icebox conversion"
refrigeration systems and some split A/C systems. Once soldered
into place, the two halves may be freely connected and disconnected
using a set of wrenches without loss of refrigerant. They are
compatible with all modern refrigerants and oils.

One-Time Connect

One-time connectors are the perfect solution for system
pre-charge with a minimum of cost and bulk. The new fittings use a
thin metal membrane to prevent leakage prior to connection. Once
they are soldered into place, the line may be safely evacuated and
charged. This membrane is automatically punctured when the two
halves are mated. Once connected, they cannot be disconnected
without loss of refrigerant.
One-time connectors are available in two sizes, with and
without 1/4" male flare charge ports. All fittings come with plastic
dust caps. |
