Receivers

The purpose of a receiver is to provide a place to safely store the excess refrigerant when an expansion valve adjusts the flow into the evaporator. Receivers are required on any refrigeration systems which uses an expansion valve which alters refrigerant flow to compensate for varying load conditions. As such, receivers are required for system using all types of expansion valves but are not required on a capillary tube system. Receivers sold by RParts are exact OEM replacement parts for most US made systems.

Fixed Valve Receiver

All Fixed Valve Receivers feature -

	500 psi working pressure

	end mounting stud

These receivers are for vertical mounting only. Rated capacity is based on R-12 @ 90F. Capacity for R-134a and R-22 is 90%.

Note: Part # 075-0310 (order below) is a compact combination package which combines Receiver #075-0300 with Condenser #012-0023.

Dimensions are 4" diameter and 10" high. The receiver and valves are sold separately. Receiver includes 2 PTFE "O" ring seals.

Automotive Style Receiver/Filter/Sight Glass

Automotive Style Receivers combine multiple functions (receiver, dryer, filter, sight glass) into one compact and economical unit. They are used when cost and space are primary design drivers. The down side is that the entire unit must be replaced to change the filter/dryer. Also, their limited capacity may not be adequate for larger systems

Connections for both models is 3/8" male flare. Maximum working pressure on both models is 275 psi. Never use these units without a reliable secondary overpressure protection device.
