Rebuilding your icebox? Why not save 50% of the work and get a fantastic hatch at the same time. Our selection of hatches save the time and cost involved in designing and building your refrigerator and freezer lids. Completely assembled and ready to finish off with your own countertop or facing material these hatches are suitable for top or front opening installations. Hatches come super-insulated with vacuum insulation giving you the equivalent of 6" of foam insulation in only 2" of space.

The R-28 hatch is designed for
RParts using high quality molded ABS plastic giving you the same
smooth, easy to clean surface you find in your home refrigerator.
Double sealed with the top seal formed using a magnetic gasket
ensures an airtight seal on every closing. The gasket seals
are mounted to the lid itself to prevent dirt build-up on the seals

The R-50 hatch is designed and manufactured by Glacier Bay, the
world's leading innovator in marine refrigeration products.
Built to last with pressure molded fiberglass construction and
finished off with pure white gel-coat the hatch retains a like-new
appearance for the life of the boat. Double sealed with the
use of powerful rare-earth magnets to clamp your lid tightly ensures
an airtight seal on every closing and eliminates the need for
separate latches on many installations.
The gasket seals
are mounted to the lid itself to prevent dirt build-up on the seals
and the well radiused frame corners permit easy cleaning. A heater strip option (which includes installation) is available for all Glacier Bay hatches. The low-power electric heater strip surrounds the outer frame and completely eliminates frame sweating on front opening freezers. Order the heater option, 12vdc or 24vdc, with your hatch purchase and the heater strip will be installed to the outer frame before shipping. Mounting Hardware
| Choosing the right hinges and latch for your installation can be a hassle, particularly if you don't want to settle for something "cheap". Rparts mounting hardware is specifically selected for strength and durability. Materials are cast brass or stainless steel and are built to withstand a marine environment. For front-loading boxes, try one of our butt hinges and external latch. Top-loading boxes can use our flush hinges and flush ring-pull to maintain a smooth countertop work surface and allow the lid to open back flat against the counter. |  |
