Blissfield has discontinued production of all compressors.  RParts will continue to carry spare parts for as long as they are available.

Always manufactured by Blissfield,  the HGB 1000 compressor was distributed by Tecumseh for many years.  As a result, most technicians continue to refer to this engine-driven compressor as a "Tecumseh".  Whether you call it Blissfield or Tecumseh, it is one rugged compressor.  Constructed entirely of cast iron, they are built to take the stresses of engine-driven operation and many years of trouble-free service.

Oil
The Blissfield HGB1000 is shipped with your choice of oil.  Which type of oil you should use depends on your system and refrigerant.  It you are replacing a compressor in an existing system and planning to continue to use either R-12, R-22, R-502 or one of the many R-12 "blends", then you should use mineral oil.  If you are building a new system you should use POE oil regardless of what type of refrigerant you will be using.

Capacity
The table below shows the capacity of this model using R-134a at a high-side pressure of 150 psig .  For R-22, R-502 and R-404a multiply the capacity given by 1.6 to obtain the approximate capacity.
