Electronic Thermostats

More and more system manufacturers are moving to electronic thermostats.  Why?  Because electronic controls offer a degree of flexibility and level of precision that simply cannot be matched by mechanical thermostats. 

Whether you are looking to replace the mechanical thermostat in your existing system or find one for a new one you are building, you can't do better than a "Carel".  We currently offer two models, the IR32W00 “W” and IR32V0E “V” thermostats.  The "W" is similar to the "V" model except that it can regulate the system operation by using a second internal relay within the thermostat.  The second internal relay allows another method of controlling the system with two sets of parameters rather than just one.  Click on the part number for programming instructions.

Temperature probe must be ordered separately.  It is not included with the control.  Add a second probe to the same control to get temperature readouts from two different locations.

If you're replacing a mechanical thermostat, we suggest the Carel Retrofit DIY Kit.  This kit includes all the parts required to upgrade from mechanical to electronic digital and a step by step manual.  You'll have the kit ready to install within a couple of hours.

Mechanical Thermostats

RParts Mechanical Thermostats are all manufactured by Danfoss Controls.  The Universal KP73 has a wide range and fully adjustable differential making it suitable for all refrigerator and freezer applications.

The Danfoss economy thermostats are available for refrigerator, freezer and cooler applications.  Be sure to match the range and differential to your specific needs. This information can be found by clicking on the part number.  These thermostats, now only available as Service Packs, include mounting hardware and mounting bracket.  However, if you are looking for a beefier bracket, we suggest the heavy duty, stainless steel mounting bracket (015-0280) designed exclusively for RParts.

While not required, the various mounting brackets make mounting all the the controls much simpler.

Thermostatic Spill-Over Dampers
TEMPORARILY DISCONTINUED

Use this control to thermostatically regulate the flow of air between two adjacent boxes.  This system is commonly known as a "spill-over" configuration and enables you to put an evaporator in one compartment (freezer) and regulate a slow flow of air to a second compartment to create a refrigerator.

RParts Thermostatic Spill-Over Dampers are made specifically for RParts by one of the world's largest control manufacturers.  Knobs must be purchased separately.

Pressure Controls
 
Pressure controls can be used for two purposes.  In some cases they are used instead of thermostats to switch the system on and off and regulate the box temperatures.  They can also be used as safety shut-offs to automatically shut the system down should the internal pressure get too high or low.

Mechanical Timers
 
Mechanical timers can be put to wide range of uses on a refrigeration system.  They are the most popular way to control engine-driven refrigeration systems.  They can also be used as an override to restrict the "ON" cycle to certain, pre-selected times or even to temporarily force the compressor on to "top up".

High Pressure Switches

High Pressure Switches are non-adjustable ON/OFF switches with contacts that break-on-rise in pressure.  They are used to turn the system off when pressure rises beyond a pre-determined limit.  Once tripped (off pressure), they automatically reset when the pressure falls to the  lower pressure limit (on pressure).    All switches are SPST with a 1/4" female flare thread.

NOTE:  For low pressure switches use part # 015-1505 under "Pressure Control" above.

Relays & Terminal Strips

This section features everything you need to set up a high-current DC control system.  If you've been having trouble with those cheap  "automotive style" high current DC relays, try our 100 amp contactors.  They easily handle 200+ amps in bursts and will take 100 amps all day long. 

Our 15 amp terminal strips feature internal press pads to protect wire and maintain tension.  For light duty switch, use our 10 amp relays and convenient plug-in base.

Control Boxes

These high-impact polycarbonate boxes are the perfect way to mount your electrical components and protect them from the elements.  All boxes incorporate a "V" groove and "O" ring seal between the bottom and lid.  Add the appropriate phenolic mounting plate to simplify component mounting.  Use the cable grip(s) to secure though-wall wires.
