Bending and mounting flate plate evaporator

Postby Joe » Sat Nov 28, 2009 5:00 pm

Received evaporator from Rparts with only two mounting holes on the corner with entrance tubes. Can other holes be drilled in the other corners or edges? . As these are roll bonded I would hope so. Also I would like to bend 6 cm in from the entrance tube end. This happens to fall where something looks like a metering device is located. Any restrictions?

"Joe,Holes can be drilled as long as they are at least 1/4" or more from the tubing ridges. Bending near the cap tube attachment point in the evaporator isn't a good idea. The suction tube attachment is fragile, be careful not to bend or tear the aluminum in this area.Forum Tech"
